one night on hbo they had on a film called "just friends" with the guy that played van wilder. i loved it so much i purchased it. it was hilarious and a great love story, check it out y'all. my favorite film i saw at the movies was brokeback mountain. it didn't get the oscar but it came in number two. get it? came in number two. anyway, it was a real tearjerker, beautiful scenery and the guys were HOT!!!!!
Well, the last movie I rented was The Break Up. I turned it off after it "Dawned" on him what she was to him.. at the bar.. if ya'll saw it you know what I mean. I was in tears for most of the movie, even when I was laughing and just didn't have the heart to finish it. lol It was a good movie, though.. what I saw of it.
I rented Click a couple of weekends ago. I never thought an Adam Sandler movie would make me cry, but it did. I loved that movie.
Cars, now that is a very, very cute animated movie. That was the last movie I saw in a theater, and it was too cute to be released from the box office.
EVERYONE NEEDS TO RENT:
PHAT GIRLS with Mo'Nique. I hope I spelled that right. It's urban and not suitable for small children, but it's a fantastic story about BBW's vs Society and Love. Even my skinny girlfriends loved it.
I saw Open Season at the Imax in 3D.. absolutely incredible 3D.. I'm still gobsmacked over it. The quality of cartoons has gotten so good anyway, and then add in the crystal clear 3D and 5-story height of the Imax screen and you've got a very entertaining.. uh.. 82 minutes lol
In the theatre I just saw "The Departed" It was very well done! Academy award material for Jack Nicholson ,I think. ( if you're offended by crude language you won't like it though) Gals, I LOVED "The Devil Wears Prada"
rental video favs are "Return to Me" and "Pretty Woman" I also enjoyed "Trans America" and "Lucky Number Slevin" I'm a movie nut and have seen almost everything in the video store except the horrors .
I rented "Transamerica" a few weeks ago and absolutely loved it!! It was one of those movies that you never want to end, was a true story and that you wish that you met these people in real life. The drama level is very high, but it is also very funny.
I say thank GOD for Netflix because I see some movies that I would NEVER rent at Blockbuster and I have seen some GREAT movies. I just saw this movie this last weekend called Red Beard - it is a Japanese movie filmed in 1965 and it was REALLY good, very touching and a very cool movie. It kept my interest through the whole movie.
Hostel was good.... gory but good... scary because it was so believable. I rented the new 'yours mind and ours, a rip off of a fabulous classis Lucille Ball/Henry Fonda film. They changed just about EVERYTHING 'to update for mondern times'... what BS! Just go and buy the origional. As for DaVinci Code, good movie if you're too lazy to read the book... was just so long and drawn out though the dude that played the albino was awesome and Ian McCallen (sp?) is always great.
Last movie I saw at the cinemas was the Da Vinci code (but I wouldn't class it as fabulous, it wasn't bad, but yeah ..) ... last GOOD movie I saw at the cinemas would be Syriana, I found it intriguing.
I have to see Jarhead when it comes out on DVD here, I'd heard it was good.
