Hey Shoutoutloud: "You got five minutes to tell me what I needed to hear. You got five minutes to show me that your really sincere. That's not much time to change my mind. It'll take a miracle no doubt. Well you've got five minutes to figure it out". D*mn She's fine.
I love country music. Grew up on it. The old stuff is the best. There are some good new artist out there, no one can replace Johnny, Waylon, Willie, Hank Jr, Patsy Cline, Tanya Tucker, Loretta Lynn and many others.
I'm new to the site. This is actually my my first reply...country music is unbelievable...it has the power to move me! I am so proud to call myself a country singer. I've sang in two bands and have always listened to it....and I too was country when country wasn't cool....when my friends were singing heavy metal I was crooning away to Conway Twitty or Randy Travis....and damn proud of it.
Variety is the spice of life so I ventured once in a while outside and listened to other types...after all....I am a true music fan and can find enjoyment in all types of music; however, I always come back to my roots. Thanks for being a fan....country music has been looked down on by so many for so long...we must band together and be proud that we are COUNTRY MUSIC FANS.
Not really a fan of the newer country music, I do LOVE the old school country like Waylon Jennings, Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, etc. After all, if America had one voice, it would be Willie Nelson -- I think I heard that somewhere, though many laugh at me when I quote that.
Sure, I have begun listening to new country a lot the last few years and they have some pretty exciting artists out there.....great stuff. Here are some that I like.... Kenny Chesney, Travis Tritt, Paul Brandt, Shania Twain, and so many more that I can't even think of right now.....
Hey Dixie, I grew up on country music, really didn't know of anything else until I was in my teens (which was a long long time ago...lol) My taste in music varies now but I still love to tune in a good country station every now and then. I guess the old saying is true "you can take the girl out of the country but not the country out of the girl"
