You're very cute Singledad. Congrats on having your priorities in order. Wish my daughter's dad did. I've been a paying member I think twice both for short periods of time. Met a couple people here. Only 1 of 3 was honest. I don't even search profiles anymore. I think there are only 5 people who are paying members in my 100 mile radius. Anyway, it just doesn't seem worth it to me to waste the money here when my kid has needs.

Doesnt sound pathetic at all. Im a single mum- dad well and truly out of the picture, however, I suppose I am lucky in the fact that I am able to afford subscriptions. However, up to yet, it has all been a waste of money! Ive only made contact with wierdos or men who want a quick sh-g! Pity you are not in the UK!

Hi Singledad, Don't waste your money on internet dating. I cancelled my subscription because I never met anyone worth of a long-term relationship. You will have better chances of meeting someone nice through a friend or at church. BTW I think you are very cute and will meet someone very soon. Good luck!

Hi Singledad! I'm in the same boat - I'm a single mom and I am very careful on where the money goes. Between guitar lessons, basketball camp and everything else, I'm leery to spend the money. I'm just waiting to get familiar with the site before I commit to a membership. But when I do, you'll be my first email :P

I don't think it's so much a question of affordability, but justifying the expense. I've invested time and money on other services and never had any results. In most cases, I didn't meet anyone, never got a response to my profile or from anyone I responded to. It's discouraging, so I understand not wanting to front the expense.

While I'm very hapy for you that your have "room to adjust your money" in order to pay for this site... not all of us do. Some of us live an an extreamly tight budget and when something has to go... it's often things such as paying for a dating site. Like in my own situation, I was once a paid member, but circumstances and three teenagers have made paying for this not where near the top of the priority list. It's unfair to assume that everyone can simply 'give something up' to pay. Somtimes, there simply isn't anything to give up.
This in NO WAY means that those who can pay DO NOT have their priorities in order. It only means they are in a better financial place than those who can not pay.
Your opinion is valuable however, and I'm sure can and will apply to a small group of members.

You share a mutual decision as many others do, including myself. I can not justify spending money at this time on a dating site when there is always something that the kids need. Such is the life of a single parent. Your not at all pathetic singledad. Chin up and I'm sure you'll be getting messages galore before you know it.
