Re: Thunderheart44 write: I'm glad to see so many people read,I was worried they only watched movies.I'm currently reading NEXT by Michael Crichton.I just finished Skeleton Man by Tony Hillerman,a great writer of the southwest and mysteries full of indian lore. Before that was The Face by dean koontz.

When driving cross country we listened to Tony Hillerman books while doing our Utah, Colorado, Nevada stretch. We actually veered off course to explore inspired by the novel. It was lots of fun.

I just finished reading "The House of the Spirits" by Isabella Allende and just started reading "Portrait in Sepia" also by Allende. I love her writing and never want her books to end.

Boy I know how that is!! I get to read about 20 minutes a night for my own pleasure. My pleasure right now is "Aphrodite" by Isabelle Allende, one of my favorite authors. Its all about aphrodisiacs and food but with her own eloquent spin on it. As an English teacher I am also reading Romeo and Juliet and Speak (Laurie Halse Anderson. I miss being able to lay around all day in peace and just read until my eyes can't focus anymore.

I'm glad to see that people like to read still! I love reading but in being a full time student and full time mother, I really haven't had too much time to read any more, but when I do read I love anything that is by Dean Koontz. I love the way his work hooks you from the start, the only thing I dislike is that he sometimes goes wild with the gory details. I just wish I has a little bit more time for pleasure reading! take care!!

Right now, I'm reading a lot of material by Jesse Duplantis - he is a Spiritual Leader/Pastor. I'm hoping to get his book, What In Hell Do You Want, very soon. I'm also in the process of writing a couple of things myself. A children's story, a fiction novel and a screen play. Another reason I like the blogs so much, it gives me a break from writing.

I have just started Darkness Visible by William Styrom and am finishing up a book about church history that has been extremely fascinating. Unfortunately I do not have downtime to read much anymore because I am back in college. So my reading has been limited to accounting books this past year.

The fiction reading has been a little slow of late - but I have Frazier's (cold mountain) new book 13 moons that I am about to start. I have a book I am looking forward to called the secret life of an economic hit man - about a cut throat capitalist. Seems like I spend a lot of time reading technical stuff and research in order to be effective in our non profit. For inspiration though I tend to turn to poetry - quick and easy: Pablo Naruda, Marge Piercy, Gary Snyder and I also enjoy Wendell Berry essays. Oh yeah picked up Freakanomics a few months ago and it was a fun one - get it from the library though it is a quick read and not a book to keep. Also around this time of year I start reading my gardening books and get busy putting herb, veggie seeds and starts in the ground. I rarely seem to nurture my gardens to abundance - I get distracted by other things and frustrated with the ants that always invade my beds, the giant tree that threatens too much shade and my sneaking around the condo association so that they won't condem my outlaw beds. Last year they pulled up all my nearly 6 year old hostas, dafodils, daylilies, creeping jenny and muscari because they wanted to plant a new scheme - which includes only invasives and annuals - arrggg. I still managed to sneak a whole mess of bearded irises back into one bed though. And my neighbor has joined me in rigging up rain barrels for the veggie bed that harvests rain from the roof - which helps with our drainage issues too. I love thwarting the condo association but then none of that has to do with my reading material....
