A New Year....A New Home...A New Life Posted on Dec 30, 2009 at 04:51 AM
Hello all my friends on Large friends. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and the New Year brings you all your wishes, less hardships, good health, and much happiness. I have been offline for a week or so. I made a huge change in my life. For 41 years I have lived in the same small town in Wisconsin only a couple miles from my parents and my 3 siblings. I had a very safe and sheltered life there, not to mention happiness. As most of you know I remarried last June after a very bad 10-year marriage. He's a wonderful man. Unfortunately in my small town he couldn't find any sort of job while he is studying for his medical license exam. The jobs back home are very scarce and people are struggling. Well I made a very scary decision. My husband's sister lives in Tampa Florida so......we decided to move. Last week Saturday we celebrated an early Xmas with my family and left after that. Drove 24 hours through 5 states and now here I am. I must say I feel a sense of relief I have never felt before in my life. I do miss the foot of snow we got in Wisconsin but things seem to be going so well. Plus I have finally escaped my ex-husband's harassment. The first day I got here I was already offered a good job. Today I have a 2nd interview at another clinic . Florida seems to love me because it is also nice and cool here. So...I'm wondering....have any of you made any major life changes or moved across country? How did the experience treat you? Are you happy with the decision? Please share with us. Kat
Halloween Posted on Oct 06, 2009 at 11:05 AM
Halloween is coming up of my favorites. So here's my do you spend Halloween? Do you go to a party? Do you stay home and hand out candy? Do you Trick-or-Treat with your children? Do you go to a club? Do you dress up....and if so what kind of costume. Every year my siblings and I gather at my parents house for a small halloween mother makes funny orange jello and hot tomales and we put a fire on the fireplace. We all take turns answering the door for trick-or-treaters. Now that we are all grown and have children we still get together by grandma and grandpa' 2 nephews go trick-or-treating....eating most of their goodies on the way back and having a belly ache...LOL. At least they save the candy bars for my sister and myself, as apparently candy bars are boring. So how do you spend the day......Halloween is on a saturday this year so I'm sure there will be many big parties! Kat/Kris
Your Best Vacation Ever Posted on Mar 13, 2009 at 11:52 AM
With summer coming up I'm guessing some of you might be taking a vacation or some weekend this is my question....What is the best vacation or getaway you ever took? What made it special? For me I have never even been out of the country and haven't been to too many states so mine was a weekend getaway on our Lake Michigan Carferry. It goes from my town in Wisconsin to Ludington Michigan. I went with my mother and daughter....just us 3 girls. We cruised 4 hours on the lake....spent the weekend in a nice hotel....saw the sights and had a leisurely cruise home a few days later. So tell me about yours. Kris
